The Resurrection Dance

I got this in an email last week, and was instantly impressed. It’s over 1300 young adults dancing about Easter. And I immediately thought, this is one of the greatest proofs of the resurrection. Don’t get me wrong, the resurrection is the main reason that I believe and follow Jesus. I think there is compelling evidence for believing it happened. But I think this is the best apologetic we can offer the world. To dance.

While some of the lyrics are less than ideal (did I catch a “don’t google your noodle” in there?), I think the concept was a brilliant idea.

So anybody else seen this? What do you think? Anybody feel up for a Resurrection dosey-doe at the Stockyards?

That was fun. It reminded me of the flash dance events that some folks are putting on in train stations, malls, etc. Although I could have done without the techno music and really could have done without the heavily processed vocals. I thought I was at a Miley Cyrus concert . . .

How do you know what a Miley Cyrus concert feels like Bro. Danny? I kid, I kid…

Jonathan, who knows what deep, dark secrets I posess? But this is not one of them. I have a teenage daughter. I have heard far, far more of Miley Cyrus than I have ever wanted to. Ah, the things we do for our kids . . .

I’m ready for aerobic praise, Jonathan! Do you think you can spur us on at Highland?!?!?!?

Bro. Danny, I get it. Because of Eden our little family is fluent in every song that Yo Gabba Gabba has, our humor around the house has gotten much more elementary (and it wasn’t very grown-up before). What we do for our kids…

Carla, I might be a better candidate for doing this if I had any semblance of rhythm. If I ever danced, I’m pretty sure people would ask me not to do it again. See you next weekend!

Well Jonathon, other than dancing is illegal for us in the Church of Christ…

Sorry, just had to throw that in for fun. I’m having trouble with the video at the moment and am guessing how it plays out and wondering why, when we discuss the resurrection and what it means, we all don’t do a little dance. Or a big dance.

If appealing to some girl is worth dancing for…
If a wedding is worth dancing for…
If hearing an old song that brings back great memories is worth dancing for…
Surely the resurrection is more than worthy of a dance of joy.

Good on them for expressing their joy.

Well said Jeff. We can dance for some petty things (not that those are petty). If there is a moment in human history that is worth dancing for, this is it.

Hey, Jonathan, I’m asking you not to dance BEFORE you do it. I’m sure you’d do the same for me.

I’m with Carla! I’d like to see us bust out dancing in the aisles at Highland!! It happens at our Praise Nights! I loved the video!
